How to Cancel Your Noctie Subscription (Web, iOS, Android)
You can cancel Noctie at any time — it takes about 2 minutes — and where you do it depends on where you subscribed: web subscriptions are canceled from your Noctie account (web billing runs through Lemon Squeezy), while iOS and Android subscriptions are canceled in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Either way you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and if you cancel during the free 7-day trial you are not charged at all.
Before you cancel: check where you subscribed
Noctie is one account across web, iPhone, iPad and Android, but the subscription itself lives with whichever store processed the payment. Three quick tells:
- You entered card or PayPal details on a Lemon Squeezy checkout page → web subscription.
- You confirmed with Face ID / Touch ID or your Apple ID → iOS (App Store) subscription.
- You confirmed through Google Play → Android subscription.
If you are not sure, look at the receipt e-mail: Lemon Squeezy receipts come from Lemon Squeezy, Apple receipts from Apple, and Google receipts from Google Play.
Cancel a web (Lemon Squeezy) subscription
- Sign in to the Noctie web app at app.noctie.ai with the account you subscribed with (e-mail code, Google or Apple).
- Open your account / subscription settings. Web billing runs through Lemon Squeezy, so managing or canceling the plan happens in the Lemon Squeezy customer portal linked from there.
- Choose cancel and confirm. The plan stops renewing at the end of the current period.
- Keep playing until that date — Noctie does not cut access early when you cancel.
You will receive a confirmation from Lemon Squeezy. Keep it: it is the proof that the plan will not renew.
Cancel an iOS subscription (App Store)
- On your iPhone or iPad open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Tap Noctie Chess Trainer.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Apple keeps the plan active until the end of the current billing period, and it stops there. If you only see “Resubscribe”, the plan is already canceled.
Cancel an Android subscription (Google Play)
- Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture and go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select Noctie Chess Trainer and tap Cancel subscription.
- Pick a reason if asked and confirm.
As with Apple, access continues until the paid period ends.
Canceling during the free trial
Every Noctie plan starts with a 7-day free trial with full access (see pricing). Cancel any time before day 7 and no charge is made. The steps are identical to the ones above; the only difference is that the plan simply ends instead of ending at the next renewal date. The free rating test is available without a trial or subscription, so you can still check your level after canceling.
What happens to your games and flashcards?
Your account, game history, flashcards and progress are not deleted when the subscription ends. If you resubscribe later — on any platform — you pick up where you left off, because one Noctie account works everywhere.
Refunds and charges you did not expect
The free trial exists so you can decide before you pay. If a renewal went through after you intended to cancel, or a store charged you twice, act on the channel that took the payment: for web payments e-mail support@noctie.ai (Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record); for App Store charges use Apple’s Report a Problem; for Google Play charges use Google Play’s refund request. Have the receipt e-mail ready — it identifies the store and the date.
Monthly vs yearly: what canceling changes
- Monthly (€14/month) — canceling stops the next monthly renewal.
- Yearly (€8/month, €96 billed annually) — canceling stops the next yearly renewal; the remaining months of the year you already paid for stay active.
Prices are in EUR on the web; the App Store and Google Play may show regional pricing in your local currency.
